Have you had moments of overwhelming grief and insurmountable challenges that are just hard to translate into words? You wish you could just call God's number and talk to Him right now! Emergency, Lord! You feel you need to be rescued. You want to call GOD's 911, or God's SOS. Well, you can. His 911 number, His SOS number is WORSHIP. When we feel besieged by life's storms, worship can be our SOS—our call to God that is always answered. Worship Him. God hears our SOS, our SOS. How do I know that? I have done it many times. In fact, I just did it. I was overwhelmed and as I worshiped the Lord, He came to comfort me again. Worship is a heartfelt expression of our innermost thoughts and emotions, a prayer without words that ascends to God. Worship speaks what's in our hearts more than our ability to craft the words. The refuge we find in worship transforms our experience from being overwhelmed by our situations to being overwhelmed by God's presence. It's during these acts of worship that we not only express our deepest anguish but also encounter the faith we need to surrender, and the profound healing and the soothing embrace of God's love to comfort us again.

Worship is an Invitation to be Rescued Worship, by its very nature, is an act of surrender and a declaration of dependence on God. My Go Group and sister Sophia Jently says, "Surrender all your burdens to the Lord, and you'll have your peace back. You'll have your joy back. It's a form of TRUSTING GOD." Worship Him. God hears your SOS, your SOS. When overwhelmed by situations, turning to worship can shift our focus from our struggles to God's sovereignty. Through worship, His presence transcends social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual barriers, drawing us into a deeper communion with God. Through worship, we not only express our needs and pains but are also reminded of God's immense love and faithfulness. The act of worship itself can transform our spirit, providing peace and fostering resilience in the face of adversity.

In these trying times, when the burden seems too much to bear, let us remember that we are invited to be rescued by the Lord through the sanctuary of worship. Here, we are not only heard but held by the One who can turn our mourning into dancing and our sorrow into joy. My friend Liz Hartensveld sent me this song, Rescue by Lauren Daigle to worship Him today.

Rescue by Lauren Daigle You are not hidden

There's never been a moment

You were forgotten

You are not hopeless

Though you have been broken

Your innocence stolen

I hear you whisper underneath your breath

I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

There is no distance

That cannot be covered

Over and over

You're not defenseless

I'll be your shelter

I'll be your armor

I hear you whisper underneath your breath

I hear your SOS, your SOS

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching to reach you

In the middle of the hardest fight

It's true, I will rescue you

I hear the whisper underneath your breath

I hear you whisper, you have nothing left

I will send out an army to find you

In the middle of the darkest night

It's true, I will rescue you

I will never stop marching to reach you

In the middle of the hardest fight

It's true, I will rescue you

Oh, I will rescue you
